Working with Children's Mental Health

Registration for this event opens on 12 October 2026

Presenter: John Dean

This session will look at the common mental health problems for children and the responses available.

The concept of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) has now gained recognition and these experiences can influence a child's mental health and physical health outcomes into adulthood.

Interventions in childhood provide an opportunity to start a child on a new path to wellbeing.  These interventions cannot be with the child alone, but must involve the caregiver as well.  The NSW Health Got It! Program is an example of how such an intervention can change the life journey for children and their families.

Registration is free but a gold coin is required to attend the session.
