First broadcast in 1973, this remains one of the finest documentary series ever made.

In an insightful and evocative personal journey, BBC/American correspondent Alistair Cooke explores his adopted country.  In doing so he manages to present a complexity of events, such as ... "the American Revolutionary War, Forming a Government, Domesticating a Wilderness, Westward Expansion, Prosperity and Depression, The Promises Fulfilled and the Promises Broken." 

Due to Cooke's factual and conversational manner, you could well imagine yourself there to witness history in the making!

There will be some relevant handout material to complement the topics and a break for discussion after each screening.  Due to the the timelines involved, it is planned to carry over into Term 4.

Registration is free but a gold coin is required to attend the session.
