Tai Chi at PCYC
Registration for this event opens on 20 April 2026
Presenter: Sandra Chapman
Note: There will only be 8 sessions this term due to public holidays.
Yang style Tai Chi Chuan is a gentle form of exercise - a moving meditation - based on a slow deliberate flow of coordinated movements.
We learn the foundations of basic body positions, balance, strength, coordination and flexibility. Meanwhile, the muscles are relaxed rather than tensed, joints are not fully extended or bent, the mind is focused and the breath is gentle.
To attend Tai Chi sessions at PCYC, you will need to be a member of the club. Membership for U3A is free. However, you will need to complete a manual membership form available at the front desk of the PCYC (NOT online) and will then receive a PCYC tag to be used for admission to the club.
Please wear comfortable clothing to allow for movement and flat shoes.
Registration is free but a gold coin is required to attend the session.
