Fire Station Visit
Registration for this event opens on 16 February 2026
Presenter: Gail Meyer
Gail Meyer reminds us that one of the consistent messages that we receive as we age is that falls can be a major health risk for us all.
In most houses we still climb the ladder to check our smoke detectors each year [or in fact we decide not to check them at all]!!
Since discovering that the Fire Brigade will come to our homes to assist with these checks as part of a free program, Gail has contacted them each year to access this service.
Did you know that the Fire Brigade provides this service?
Join us at the Turvey Park Fire Station for a site visit to see the workings of the station. We'll also have a talk by one of the Fire Officers about the "Home Fire Safety Visits" program, fire detectors, fire safety plans with an opportunity to ask questions you may have.
Event Manager: Margaret Sutherland
NOTE: As the Fire brigade is an emergency service, the date/time of this event may need to be changed at short notice.
Registration is free but a gold coin is required to attend the session.
