DNA - we all have it, we got it from our parents, and we pass it to our children. Everything now seems to have DNA, but what is it? Over four sessions the course will examine:
1. The role of DNA in living things. It's structure as the elegant Double Helix, how it produces all the components of life and how it is passed from one cell to new cells, and from one generation to the next
2. Inheritance of DNA and its use in estimating your relationships to others
3.Medical and ethical issues
4. Family history (building on Session 1)
Event Manager: Judy Dennis
Attendees will be invited to share their experiences with family studies and ask questions if they wish. Sessions are designed for one hour with an additional 30 minutes available for discussion.
Registration is free but a gold coin is required to attend the session.
