This 'lost' documentary "Wings of the Storm" was produced forty years ago by 'The Australian War Memorial', narrated by Bud Tingwell and features interviews by Australian bomber aircrew. It focuses on the experiences of the ten thousand Australians who served in Bomber Command during World War II.
Be prepared for some confronting graphic images of the horrors of war!
It's a 'must see' historic story that highlights the bravery and sacrifice of these individuals as they faced the dangers of nighttime bombing of German occupied Europe.
When it was screened for U3A last year, we had three guests in the room with a strong connection to this story...we are hoping to have them again.
I first saw this on ABC TV in 1986 (40 years ago). It had an impact on me then, it does now, and it will you!
Registration is free but a gold coin is required to attend the session.
