Presenter: Jenny O'Brien
Come along for a tour through the life of a young adventurous girl growing up in Wagga during the beginning of the 'baby boom'. Her path takes her into the turbulent Sixties in Sydney, nursing at St Vincent's, an encounter with rock royalty, and eventually moving to the USA where she lands in the middle of the Civil Rights movement, challenging all the prior values and experiences of the socially conformist decade. Marrying a Native American Vietnam Veteran leads her into throes of Nixon, Vietnam Veterans against the War, The FBI, and the American Indian Movement. Returning in the late seventies as a single working mother she embraces the challenges of the 80s AIDS crisis, increasing women's health and safety, and being on the forefront of support for grieving parents. This is a journey not to be missed.
